Using Imagination for Good
Hypnosis can be described as a mental state of focus and absorption in some object of our imagination. It is an extension of very ordinary similar states, like driving a familiar route whilst being focused on our thoughts, or being absorbed by a film, immersing ourselves in the story and the characters and being oblivious to our surroundings. Whilst in such a state, it can be possible to realise that we already have the skills and resources required to overcome our problems and issues, that difficult situations may be similar to other situations we have encountered and overcome in the past, using our unique set of skills, and we can do so again. Sometimes we can even find skills that we didn’t know we had, which can help us with our most difficult problems. We can learn to use our imagination for good.
